COLLECTIVE SOUL Level One

This intensive program combines dance workouts, various styles of stretches, and toning and strengthening drills with several hours of tribal bellydance practice. Coming together to study the Gypsy Caravan Tribal Technique, we will:
The Gypsy Caravan Tribal Bellydance Collective Soul Certification Program, with the various levels of study, means that when you are awarded your certificate, that you know and have begun to master the levels and layers in the Gypsy Caravan Tribal Style Bellydance movement course! Paulette's goal is to help you be the best dancer you can be, and Gypsy Caravan style format assists with learning the basic dance language, how to best use your body as a dancer, and how to be an ethical and creative artist. It has also been a proven method in bringing the tribes together from around the world, our Collective Soul, to join in the Caravan Soul Collective International!
This program has been in demand for years and we are very excited about offering it, so dancers can have a chance to learn by an intensive method, in a wonderful and fun environment, and with personal attention.
This is a way to have formal recognition for your hard work and dedication in learning this unique and versatile style of dance. This will give you the tools you need to better your dance, with knowledge and body skills.
Dancers must have some tribal bellydance experience and will need to fill out an application to be accepted. You must be familiar with the Gypsy Caravan format and style. Studying the Gypsy Caravan technique DVDs is mandatory. Please note that not everyone will pass the first time through this course. Some dancers need extra time to practice, so that not only do they understand the dance moves, but that they understand how to use their body and can communicate the moves. We honor each dancer with their own learning timetable; you can have the opportunity to be retested when you feel ready by an agreed upon method and fee.

Going to Adelaide for studies with Paulette was amazing, firstly we had three days of Collective Soul - intensive training with Paulette going over moves, rhythms, zills and technique. I swear its changed me for workshops forever!! It was so inspiring AND exhausting! By the time the test came around I wondered if I'd have any more energy in reserve....but passed thankfully! Paulettes a great teacher. Collective Soul Level Two (Intermediate One)
We move into the Collective Soul Level Two session, adding many new intermediate dance steps to your repertoire, with reviews and drills of beginning moves. We will add more zil patterns with your dance, discuss interpretation and understanding the nuances of music, work on smoother transitions between moves, refinement of personal style, and variations of tribal styling.
Fifteen hours including testing.
* Have a great time dancing together as a circle of women, feeling the community spirit of this dance!
* Improve your technique with Level One and Two moves
* Add new dance steps to your repertoire, review and refine the moves you know
* Discuss interpretation and understanding the nuances of music
* Continue work on smooth transitions between steps
* Build your confidence as a dancer, leading and following
* Strengthen your improvisational skills
* Add more zil patterns, and dance while playing them!
* Review rhythm identification
* Add simple formations to your dance
* Participate in discussions about tribal bellydance artistry.
You will be tested at the end of the session, and if you pass, you will be certified in Gypsy Caravan's Level Two Collective Soul Tribal Bellydance Movement and Certification program! In the event you do not pass at this time, you can be re-tested at a later date. No worries, it is an intensive program and some of us need longer for additional study.
This is your pre-requisite for Gypsy Caravan Teacher Training Stage Two, and will also allow you to move into Collective Soul Level Three, for Intermediate Level Two dance steps.
Collective Soul Level Three
for Intermediate Level Two

As you move into the Intermediate Level Two session, we will
- Add many new steps to your tribal repertoire
- Continue to work on smoother transitions between moves
- Add combinations and variations
- Work on partnering with ease and confidence
- Work on various formations
- Continue to build your confidence as a dancer, leading and following
- Strengthen your improvisational skills
- Dance with variety of zil patterns
- Review rhythm identification
- Participate in discussions about tribal bellydance artistry.
- Have a great time dancing together as a circle of women, feeling the community spirit of this dance!
* This is your pre-requisite for Gypsy Caravan Teacher Training Level Three, and will also allow you to move into Collective Soul Level Four, for Advanced Level One.
Dance tuition for the program: $550.00 at Paulette's, On The Road may be more depending on how many dancers.
Teacher Training Level One
This thorough, intensive program in Tribal Style Bellydance is designed to give you the dance skills, language, and technique for Beginning Level students, to benefit you in your teaching methods, as well as your own dance. You will gain insight into refining your teaching techniques in addition to developing Paulette's tribal dance style, class format, curriculum, and business applications. In most cases, you will be able to work and dance alongside other students and teachers in training, which is highly beneficial.
You will be tested at the end of the session, and must pass to be certified. This ensures that your skill level and knowledge are satisfactory. You will then be certified by Paulette stating that you have successfully completed Basic Teacher Training Levels One and Two.
This intensive Teacher Training program provides 15 hours of dance training which gives you to information, practice, teaching skills and tools to teach Beginning Level One and Beginning Level Two classes in Paulette's Gypsy Caravan Tribal bellydance Style format. You must be certified in Collective Soul Level One to enroll in this program. You will attend classes of Beginning Level One and Two classes taught by Paulette or her trained instructors, as well as have group instruction for the program. Other levels of classes may be available to take while visiting.
The program will cover:
- History of Tribal Belly Dance
- Paulette's teaching philosophy
- Body awareness and warm-up exercises
- Development and personal critique of dance technique and skills
- Development of teaching format, class structure, and dance curriculum
- Business applications
- Teacher Training Manual- copyrighted and for your own personal use only
Gypsy Caravan Teacher Training
Intermediate Level One Training Intensive:
Ready to move on and open up your dance classes, upgrade your teaching technique, style, and personal dance too?
This intensive provides15 hours of dance training which will allow you to teach Intermediate Level One classes with certification by Paulette if you have successfully completed the testing for Intermediate Level One Teacher Training. This testing will ensure that your skill level and knowledge are satisfactory.
Provisions of the intensive workshop:
In Portland: Attend the required classes of Intermediate Level One classes.
Attend 15 hours private sessions with Paulette, which will cover:
o Learn new steps and combinations
o Development, refinement, and critique of dance technique
o Personal style, interpretation of techniques
o Music interpretation and styling, with zil and drum rhythm tune-ups
o Body awareness, strength building, and continuation of warm-up exercises
o Further development of teaching format, class structuring, curriculum, business applications
Prerequisites:
A written biographical description of your Beginning Level One and Two classes which includes how many hours a week you are currently teaching, your strengths and weaknesses as a teacher, your desires and goals as a teacher and as a dancer, what you have learned about yourself as a dancer and as a teacher, and what you want to achieve by taking Paulette’s Intermediate training.
Fee: $600.00. A deposit of $300.00 to reserve your place in the Intermediate Level One Teacher Training Workshop is required upon registration, with payment of the final $300.00 by the start of the program. No certification will be provided without complete payment for the workshop.
