Trouser Press states: Fade To Black: Powerful, dramatic drone psychedelia from the San Francisco area. The lyrics, poetically packed with pretentious imagery, are opaque and vague (to me, anyway), but the music has real drive in spots. Credit drummer Gil Ray, later of Game Theory and Loud Family, and bassist Jeff Rees for propulsion; Paulette Rees (keyboards) and Bradley (vocals and guitar) for color and texture. Phoenix Hairpin writes...Singer Bradley construct his lyrics from mythologies as ancient as the Fisher King and Ophelia, and as current as William S. Burroughs's warcry 'Towers Open Fire!' from 'Naked Lunch' (from an NY Times article written by Robert Palmer for Pop Life in 1985).
