Beginning Level One Teacher Training:
You love this dance and want to teach it, right? Or you already teach but need some help, advice, a few bits of business skills to become a successful teacher, and you need something to shake up your classes and your approach a bit? This thorough, intensive program in Tribal Style Bellydance is designed to give you the beginning dance skills, language, and technique to benefit you in your teaching methods as well as your own dance. You will gain insight into refining your teaching techniques in addition to developing Paulette's tribal dance style, class format, curriculum, and business applications. In some cases, you will be able to work and dance alongside other students and teachers in training, which is highly beneficial.
I want your classes to be fun, a good workout, and professional; because YOU want to be a leader!
This intensive Teacher Training program provides 15 hours of dance training which gives you to information, practice, teaching skills and tools to teach Beginning Level One and Beginning Level Two classes in Paulette's Gypsy Caravan Tribal bellydance Style format. You must be certified in Collective Soul Level One to enroll in this program. You will be tested at the end of the session, and must pass to be certified. This ensures that your skill level and knowledge are satisfactory. You will then be certified by Paulette stating that you have successfully completed Basic Teacher Training Level One.You may attend classes of Beginning Level One classes taught by Paulette or her trained instructors, as well as have group instruction for the program. Other levels of classes may be available to take if you are visiting Oregon for the course.

The program will cover:
History of Tribal Belly Dance
Paulette's teaching philosophy
Body awareness and warm-up exercises
Development and personal critique of dance technique and skills
Development of teaching format, class structure, and dance curriculum
Business applications
Teacher Training Manual- copyrighted and for your own personal use only
Follow up:
Within the first 90 days after the workshop, or after you start teaching, you must submit a letter describing how your classes are going, number of students, sample flyers for your classes, any follow up questions that I can help you with. Paulette will remain available to help answer questions and assist you in your teaching career. Another letter is due after the first year following the training. Once you have completed the Basic Teacher Training Workshop, Level One and Two, you will become eligible to continue your dance skill development through the Intermediate and Advanced Teacher Training Workshops, with certification in the required level of Collective Soul.
Prerequisites for attending:
What do you need for this course? Collective Soul Certification Level One is a pre-requisite for Teacher Training Level One. You should have three to five years of bellydance training, preferably tribal bellydance. You must be familiar with both the Gypsy Caravan's style of dance and music as well as Paulette's Tribal Technique #1, #2 , #3, and #4 instructional DVDs. Paulette would like a letter from you describing your dance background, stating your desires in undertaking this training and what you want to achieve. Please list your strengths and weaknesses as a dancer, and why you would make a good tribal bellydance dance teacher. Please be aware that this is not a writing test! Paulette wants to understand what you wish to accomplish and to help determine if you are right and ready for this course. You will need to submit three letters of recommendation—one from your dance teacher, and two from either an employer, a student, or fellow dancer—stating why they think this is a good course for you, along with a bio/resume. Also note: this is not a course for you if you are not currently involved in tribal bellydance. You may wish to come and study with Paulette and the Gypsy Caravan Dance Company by taking classes and privates in order to prepare for the teacher training. Please ask to determine your eligibility and what course of action we can take together to help you achieve your goals.
Paulette recommends studying with as many teachers as possible, but for this program we will focus on the Gypsy Caravan style and methods only.
You must have a strong desire to dance and teach with a commitment to us and yourself that you will continue to train and acquire dance skills, maintain your physical health, and be ethical in your art and business practices.
